What are adaptogens? Adaptogens are herbs, roots, and plants that serve as bioregulators which help your body adapt to environmental factors such as stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Adaptogens improve your overall well-being. Adaptogens work according to what your body needs at a given moment. They will either stimulate or calm you, while getting your baseline levels to a middle ground. The most common way to consume adaptogens is to enjoy them through a cuppa tea. 

Inflammation is a common reaction to stress, unhealthy food, and other environmental factors. These environmental factors can lead to a myriad of other diseases, including heart disease, weight gain or obesity, high blood pressure, Alzheimer's, depression, diabetes, chronic anxiety, and more. Adaptogens begin to accumulate in the body after about a month of consistent use, but you may begin feeling a difference in how you feel within days. 

Tea is the most commonly consumed adaptogen in the world. However, blending it with other adaptogenic herbs makes finding balance in a stressful world so much more achievable.

Daily Cleanse (herbal): 

Our Daily Cleanse wellness blend is specially made with burdock and milk thistle, both well known to suppress hunger and improve skin clarity, along with green rooibos, cinnamon, and lemon balm, all jam packed with antioxidants. Finally, dandelion root (not to be confused with the sneeze-inducing flower petals) and peppermint combat inflammation and give it a delicious fresh flavor. Our customers have raved about how great this tea tastes both hot or iced. Squeeze in a little lemon for an extra kick of Vitamin C. 

Tea Tip: One popular way of drinking the Daily Cleanse is to create a concentrate by steeping it in boiling water for 10-30 minutes, until it cools off. For example, if you have a 4 cup pitcher, steep 4 teaspoons in 1-2 cups of boiling water, allowing it to cool off faster than if you were to use 4 cups of boiling water. Strain your tea. Then, add 2 cups of cold water so you can enjoy it as an iced tea throughout the day. Otherwise, prepare as usual, using one tea spoon per cup of boiling water, and steep for 5-10 minutes. 

Recommendation: 1-2 cups of Daily Cleanse in the morning. This tea may suppress appetite. A caffeine free herbal elixir, this can be enjoyed any time of the day. For stronger brews, you may use up to one tablespoon per 8-16 ounces of water, as opposed to the usual one teaspoon to one cup of water ratio. 

Skinny Cinnamon Roll (tea and herbal): 

Our best selling blend, Skinny Cinnamon Roll, will satisfy your sweet tooth while firing up your metabolism. Skinny Cinnamon Roll is our blend of oolong, ginger, apple, and Senna leaf. It combines green tea with yerba mate for an energetic punch, and functionally pairs with dandelion root, cinnamon, and a pinch of orange, beautifully accented with Spanish safflower. The combination of these ingredients will increase your metabolic rate*, thus helping curb your cravings and igniting your metabolism. This tea is a perfect addition to your fitness routine and overall health ritual.

Tea Tip: As this is a caffeinated tea, we recommend enjoying the Skinny Cinnamon Roll in the morning. 

Safety Information: Not recommended for children, pregnant/breast-feeding women, or individuals sensitive to caffeine. This tea contains about 40-50 mg of caffeine, roughly half of the caffeine in one cup of coffee.

Golden Chai (herbal):

A super tisane made of super herbs, our Golden Chai is a blend of super antioxidants with intense anti-inflammatory properties, including the golden child turmeric, which gives this tea its beautiful golden hue, and ginger, a centuries old classic known to improve nearly every ailment in existence. Paired with black peppercorn, which helps absorb the health benefits of turmeric, this golden blend is rounded out with the super powers of cinnamon, fennel, and clove. 

Tea Tip: Golden Latte, anyone? That's right. This is THE BLEND for making the infamous golden lattes. To make a golden latte, simply steep one tea spoon of our Golden Chai in about 2-4 ounces of boiling water, for 5-10 minutes depending on your preference of strength. Top off to a full 8 ounces with your favorite milk of choice. We recommend coconut milk for an extra boost of antioxidants and creamy consistency. 

Zen (herbal):

Relaxing during the day, sleep inducing at night. Our Zen tisane contains valerian root, a powerful root that has been found to help people fall asleep faster and reduce anxiety. With over 60 research studies to back this, it is one of the most well studied adaptogens with cultural use spanning centuries. Valerian root also helps you stay in a deep state of sleep for longer. Chamomile has been a staple for relaxation for centuries. Combined with antioxidant packed honeybush and cherries, this tea has a delicious flavor profile. Zen contains other relaxation inducing ingredients, including passion flowers, spearmint, lemon balm, and lavender. 

Tea Tip: Unwind at night with a hot cup of Zen. Simply steep one tea spoon in boiling water for 5-10 minutes, depending on your flavor preference. Butterfly Pea Tea (herbal):

This tea is magical, but not just because it changes color when you add a little lemon to it! Butterfly pea flower is extremely rich in antioxidants called ternatins. Ternatins have been shown to alleviate inflammation and even prevent cancer cell growth. In Ayurvedic medicine, butterfly pea flower is known as a brain herb, used for centuries to treat depression, stress, anxiety, and overall mental well-being. Butterfly pea tea stabilizes blood sugar levels due to its ability to inhibit glucose intake. It also contains powerful antioxidants that can boost collagen production, improving your skin health, as well as your joint health. One of the antioxidants it contains is called anthocyanins, a naturally occurring antioxidant that can delay skin's aging. 

Tea Tip: Butterfly Pea Flowers are very mild in flavor but bursting with color. Drink butterfly pea on its own or add it to a white or herbal tea such as lemongrass or rooibos. Add a touch of lemon, lime, or orange to change its color into a beautiful shade of pinkish purple when enjoyed on its own. Simply steep a few blue pea flower petals in boiling water for 5-10 minutes and enjoy!

Oolong Tea:

A type of true tea from the Camellia Sinensis plant, oolong is hand rolled and aged to perfection. It contains antioxidants and nutrients that protect our cells from damage caused by aging, our lifestyles, and the environment. While all teas contain high levels of antioxidants that offer a range of health benefits, oolong teas contain stronger antioxidant and antimutagenic* effects than green or black tea. 

*Antimutagenic: Capable of reducing the frequency of a mutation. 

Turmeric:

A bright, flavorful golden herb, turmeric contains bioactive compounds with medicinal properties. Known for combating inflammation, turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory herb, used for prevention of inflammatory diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and various degenerative conditions. Turmeric can increase the antioxidant capacity in the body, which in turn neutralizes free radicals. Free radicals are unstable atoms that can damage cells, causing illness and aging. Antioxidants like to latch onto free radicals, neutralizing the damage that the free radicals want to cause. This might seem very scientific, but the reality is that we need to understand what happens at the molecular level so we can truly fuel our body effectively. 

Ginger:

A powerful adaptogen, ginger increases serotonin and dopamine levels, which can in turn positively affect depression, anxiety, and other stress-connected conditions. Ginger is a well known anti-inflammatory herb and is famous for soothing upset stomach and nausea. Ginger also contains antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. 

Yerba Mate:
